Crip Authorship: Disability as a Method for Creativity
June 21 @ 12:45 pm - 5:00 pm
Join us for an afternoon of talks, a screening, and a workshop exploring disability, authorship, and access. Contributors to Crip Authorship—a 2024 CHOICE Reviews Outstanding Academic Title—will share their work on how disability can shape the way we write, communicate, and create. Highlights include a screening with Louise Hickman, a plain language writing workshop led by Kelsie Acton, and a keynote lecture by Georgina Kleege. The event will begin with a book signing and introduction by the editors, Mara Mills and Rebecca Sanchez.
Please note that space for the workshop component is limited; only request an in-person ticket if you are certain you can attend. Alternatively, you are welcome to join the event online via hybrid access.
This event is presented in collaboration with the New York University Center for Disability Studies: https://disabilitystudies.nyu.edu/
This event will be held in-person. If you prefer to join remotely, we are offering streamed online tickets as a separate option. You can attend this event online by registering through this webpage.
