March 24, 2023: Yan Grenier and Dustin Jones ‘From inaccessibility to pathologized mobility in NYC: finding affordances in a pandemic’

This is the first dialogue in a series of events on mobility & access to transportation of disabled New Yorkers. The events were facilitated by Yan Grenier and involved New York City activists and international researchers.

This time Yan Grenier, postdoctoral FRQSC fellow at the Department of Anthropology and the Center for Disability Studies at New York University, discussed his postdoctoral research on (im)mobilities in New York and individual experiences of the pandemic with Dustin Jones, a disability and transportation activist, president & founder at United for Equal Access NY Inc, and board Member at Center for Independence of the Disabled NY.

The event was made possible with the generous funding support of the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Société et culture (FRQSC).
